NCsoft Austin, the U.S. branch of NCsoft, the world’s largest independent developer and publisher of online computer games is seeking a talented Interaction Designer to create and implement interactive designs for a variety of game-related websites and web applications. Experience with interface design, information architecture, web application design, and interactive content design is required. A passion for user-centered design, interactive design, and the ability to clearly communicate creative solutions to developers and stakeholders is most desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Produce innovative, engaging, and effective designs and interactions that meet technical requirements, user needs, and customer goals.
• Lead the design process using wireframes and create rapid prototypes and mock-ups to validate design concepts.
• Develop information design, user task flows, and user experience strategies for complex online applications.
• Present design concepts and solutions verbally and in documents such as storyboards, wire frames, and flowcharts.
• Ensure the quality and effectiveness of designs throughout the development process via design reviews, user testing, and collaboration with the development team.
• Document and apply best practices in user centered design. Develop design guidelines, standards, and specs that developers, designers, and others will use to implement visual design concepts and solutions.
• Research, track and recommend new Web technologies and user interaction conventions.

Job Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in interactive media design.
• Excellent aesthetic sensibilities and proven ability to design a polished, engaging look & feel for web sites and applications.
• Thorough understanding of standard design applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash), excellent color & typographic sensibilities.
• Mastery of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Strong proponent of web standards and usability.
• Experience developing consumer-facing web applications with large user bases.
• Solid understanding of the fundamentals of information architecture and user interface design; should have experience working through the entire design lifecycle and be familiar with user-centered design methods.
• Ability to translate business requirements and user goals into effective design solutions.
• Proven ability to identify conflicting design requirements and constructively solve problems for the end-user’s best interests.
• Established ability to present design scenarios and solutions confidently and credibly to internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and flexibility to accommodate demanding schedules.
• Portfolio showcasing professional web site and application design expertise.
• Bachelors Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Design or a related field.
