Junior Designer / UI Ninja at ZURB, Inc.

Location: San Francisco, CA
URL: www.zurb.com

ZURB (www.zurb.com) is looking for a junior designer to join our design strategy team.

We’re a close-knit team that helps companies design better web sites, services, and products online. We’ve been around over 10 years and have over 85 startups in our client roster. Our clients range from large, well-known companies that we’ve helped for years (e.g., Photobucket, Zazzle, the New York Stock Exchange) to brand-new startups just finding their feet (Qik, TinyPic). They all came to us based on our reputation of delivering killer ideas that work. We’re creative thinkers and risk takers who refuse to look at our work as just a job. We like fun projects and constantly push each other to get better at our craft.

We’re located in downtown Campbell, a thriving suburb of the Silicon Valley, where we have parking, a Wii and Twist! (Look it up on Yelp!) This position is available immediately, pays competitively and is full-time, though we also welcome contractors. We’re a small company, but we provide additional benefits: 100% health insurance, a 401k plan, cell phone, the occasional bocce game, and sushi every few weeks (Sushi Friday!). We also have fabulous taste in music.

As a Junior Designer, here are some of the things you’ll be expected to do:

1. Visual Design – illustrations, icons, compelling visual elements, etc. 2. User Interface/Experience Design – wire-framing, weighting elements, boxes and arrows, flow, great common sense 3. Front-End Development – XHTML/CSS/Javascript, web standards, frameworks like Prototype.js or MooTools would be cool. Experience integrating with Rails would be great. 4. Words – clear explanations, compelling writing, and the occasional clever or funny e-mail
