Departmental Overview:
The web department functions primarily to develop our online presence and develop our digital delivery mechanism (Get Trax) and to maintain our award winning website & various online systems. The website is viewed as the companies shop window & is used in pitches and marketing presentations, as such Extreme Music strives to have one of the very best websites on the web to aid in creating business opportunities and ensuring clients are encouraged to use the website as a delivery mechanism for the company’s catalogue.
Role Objective:
To develop and maintain the company’s web presence.
Summary of Role Responsibilities:
To devise and maintain long and short term strategies for the implementation of new online functionality.
- Developing and maintaining Extreme’s online player: Get Trax
- Designing and action scripting elements for the Extreme Music website
- Website updates: news items, clips, showreel
- Creating minisites for product launches and new releases
Design & create website & web systems for clients & marketing staff
- Creating new or additional functionality to aid clients in their music searches
- Creating additional functionality to aid clients in fulfilling license applications
- Creating and branding in-house systems to aid marketing staff with music searches
- E-Invites / Mailers E-Invites / Mailers for the marketing department
- Issues fixing bugs/errors on site, web database & search tool, web server, etc.
Maintaining the Extreme Music Online Player
- Content uploads
- Fixing links, ensuring images and files are loading
- Investigating and fixing bugs on an ad hoc basis
- Routine checks and updates to the 2 web servers, uploading files installing software etc. liaising with the London office to ensure music files are being updated
General Admin
- Ensuring local back-ups are made
- Ensuring routine updates are made for the webservers
- Ensuring a current list of username & passwords are kept + all registration keys/serial numbers etc for all web software
Qualifications/ Experience:
Essential
- Educated to college standard
- At least 3 years experience in building and maintaining websites
Desirable
- College degree standard in design or multimedia
- Experience in designing e-commerce sites
- Experience of designing & maintaining music sites or audition tools
Skills/ Abilities:
Essential
- Flash 8 & 9, MX2004 Professional, Dreamweaver, html, Adobe Photoshop
- Sound and video editing experience
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Organised and thorough, with the ability to co-ordinate, prioritise and multitask
- Able to work effectively autonomously as well as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to understand process and follow procedure
- Ability to work effectively at a fast pace
- Ability to produce effective new ideas with little or no brief
Desirable
- Cool Edit Pro, Adobe Aftereffects
- Knowledge of XML, ASP, SQL scripting
