Job Mission: We’re looking for an experienced, web interface designer to work on our web based collaboration software. This position will be engaged in designing all aspect of the user interface on Kavi’s products, including the User Interfaces, page and menu layouts, functional behavior, and process flow. Significant experience designing one or more complex web-based systems is required as is a good technical background. Kavi’s cubicle-free working environment provides unlimited coffee and a fully stocked kitchen. This is a great opportunity for a developer who enjoys working on a small team in a fast paced and open environment. This is a full time, salaried, on site position.

Responsibilities:

• Build applications that successfully champion the needs of the user and meet the business goals of the product.
• Participate in requirements definition and the creation of user interface specification, including investigation into best-practice and technical standards organization procedures.
• Collaborate as an area specialist with others on a product’s development team; including engineers, marketing, documentation, and QA.
• Responsible for all aspects of the user interface implementation.
• Help develop and publish interface standards.
• Work as member of product development team to produce quality products.

Requirements

• A Bachelor degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in designing usable web-based interfaces and a strong visual design sense.
• Expert standards-based web authoring skills; specifically the ability to write valid JavaScript, XHTML and CSS by hand.
• Excellent English written, verbal, and presentational communication skills.
• Happy working in small teams on multiple projects.
