ArtandCulture.com is in the process of relaunching as a media-rich, taste-driven social network for the arts and culture. The present www.artandculture.com won numerous awards and recognition for its ground breaking architecture, its original writing and outstanding design including best of show at SXSW. The new, not yet public facing art+culture, goes into private beta this week. It’s a very rich app, smart and beautifully designed that combines the keystone aggregation schema of Wikipedia, YouTube, MySpace and Amazon to enable cultural consumers and producers alike to explore, discover, create and connect across six major artistic disciplines and culture.

We are a small, highly dedicated, experienced team located in SF, NY, and Amsterdam and are now looking for smart, passionate people to grow the team. We are looking for 1-3 developers who are well versed in ROR who want to immerse themselves completely into our app the and to help lead its to development.

The working relationship can begin as a contract position but we are looking for two full-time passionate people to lead development into the future. Ideally you have strong experience developing with Rails, have successfully deployed a publicly accessible rails based website, have expertise in relational database design and optimization, experience with deploying and scaling production Rails applications, a detailed approach in design, coding and testing, familiarity with a broad range of web technologies including ajax, javascript, CSS, XML, open APIs.

Experience with social networking and multimedia is a bonus.
