Senior Rails Engineer

 

We are looking for a top-notch rails developer who loves creating web applications from top to bottom, front to back.  Ruby, Rails 3, RSpec, MongoDB, jQuery, HAML, SASS and Git are the tools you will be using. The team you will be joining is a small, self-organized team. Brightcove is full of professionals who love their craft.  We like to try new things in an attempt to always get better.  We use an agile process that ensures the features we build will delight our customers and that we’ll be home in time for dinner. You’ll be writing code, a lot of it.  This will range from automating EC2 instance creation to crafting data models to building beautiful UIs. You'll review code and have your code reviewed.  You'll look on with pride as your tests pass ensuring a smooth and seamless experience for our end users.  Most importantly, you'll provide a fresh outlook on features, architecture and project direction and will actively contribute to it on an ongoing basis.  Your ability to contribute to a technical discussion mirrors your ability to listen and learn from your peers.

We use some pretty cool stuff in a lot of different ways — Ruby, Rails 3, MongoDB, jQuery, EC2, Chef and Git. You're passionate about staying up-to-date on the latest and greatest technologies and applying them appropriately to our projects. Think node.js might be a better tool for the job?
